Be Enchanted with Sharjah

SHARJAH is the only emirate that shares its borders with the other six emirates of the United Arab Emirates and is also the cultural capital with the 3rd largest and 3rd most populous city in the UAE.
There are 3 ports in Sharjah with a total area of 49.5 million square meters, namely Khorfakkan Port, Hamriyah Port and Khalid Port.
Sharjah has been ruled by the Al Qasimi dynasty since the 18th century. Presently, it is His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohamad Al-Qassimi, is a Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
World Health Organization (WHO) declares Sharjah as the Region’s First Healthy City because of the adherence to all the requirements pertaining to the WHO’s Healthy Cities programme, according to a report issued by Sharjah Media Centre, the media and communications arm of the Government of Sharjah.

1. Hamriyah Freezone (HFZA)
2. Sharjah Airport International Free Trade Zone (SAIF Zone)
3. Sharjah Media City (SHAMS)
Other Facts:
The cost of industrial investment in Sharjah is 35 per cent lower than the rest of the UAE.
The UAE’s first school, library and municipality were set up in Sharjah. It was also the first emirate to provide education for women in 1942.
Sharjah was the first to establish an airport in the Gulf region.
